8 Affordable Spring 2019 Transitional looks

I’m back with a few simple, super affordable, transitional outfits to get you into those slightly warmer days!

Spring has surely been on my mind these past few days, we have had a bit more sun although it’s been chilly... that warm touch of vitamin d on your face just seems to make everything feel that little bit better, don’t you agree?

So with out further ado here are some of my fave transitional pieces I will be wearing this spring!

Jumper: Quiz
Jeans: Newlook
Boots: Topshop

First up is actually an outfit i wore just a few days ago, adding a wool coat and a hat it kept me toasty and warm, but because the sun was out and it was a still day i was able to take my coat off for a few shots! A jumper but a cute fun jumper...with jeans and my fave Topshop sock boots (that go with absolutely everything, throw on a hat and you have yourself that perfect look!

T-shirt- Primark
Jeans- Topshop
Boots- Clarks
Blouse- Shein

If you love layering then this one is easy for you, a simple white t-shirt with jeans and layer with a blouse or cardigan, to keep you chill free, plus you can easily remove and add when you need too!

Jeans, Jumper and bag- Newlook
Boots- Dorothy Perkins

This outfit is one of my faves! This jumper is so fun to wear with the oversize knit sleeves and its pink! keeping it light with some ripped knee mom jeans and some white ankle boots to put a spring in my step!

Dress- Primark
Boots-Sam Edelman

Add a bit of fun to a simple floral dress! Ankle boots with dresses are my favorite pieces to wear together in those warmer days.  I put on a hairband to add a little something to my low bun hairstyle.

Bag- Shein
Sandals- Vince Camuto

This beautiful jumper makes an appearance a few times in this post.  It is another favorite of mine and perfect for that transition item to throw on with jeans and sandals or ankle booties.

Skirt- Quiz
Boots- Peacocks
Jumper- Boohoo

Animal print was a big trend in 2018 and it looks like its here to stay for 2019 too.  This wrap skirt is gorgeous with boots or heels or flats! you can wear a t-shirt, or a jumper or a blouse.  What ever way you want to style

Trouser- Boohoo
Leather jacket- Zara

Keep it simple with a white tee...plain t shirts are great for chucking on with almost anything.  Add some khaki trousers and a leather jacket for a edgy rock chick look!

Jeans- M&S
Boots- Showpo

Here's that jumper again...no but for serious i feel like i can wear it with anything! White jeans are not just for spring/summer anymore and where very much a big thing Winter 2018! I love these peep toe booties, they are a perfect in between sandal and boot!

That's the lot, i really hope you enjoyed reading and that you got some inspiration for adding your own twist on some similar looks! I'd love to know your thoughts, please leave a comment below!

Review: Eylure Brow Pencil in Mid Brown Nø 20

So lets talk eyebrows, as we all know, our brows these days are just as important as mascara! It means so much to us if we can get them perfect at least 3 times a week right? Because if you are like me there are days that i just don't have the patience and will be walking out the door talking to my eyebrows like they try to sabotage me on purpose "why? why do you do this to me?".  Anyway, enough of the dramatics and back to this post.

For a long time i have stuck with the same brow pencil from the B. range from Superdrug in shade Hazel...it done me, i always liked the colour and it suited my natural brow colour perfectly (as i am quite dark naturally, putting a dark brown pencil on top of my natural brows just made me look like i stuck my face in a coal bucket..). Until, one rainy day i ran out and when i went to buy a new one, they where sold out!!!

After about an hour and a thousand swatches of brow pencils later, i finally settled on the Eylure pencil in Mid Brown number 20.  I fell in love with the true brown shade and the slightly waxy finish.

It is so easy to work with even more than the B. pencil and the brush is twisty wire brush rather than the comb style brush that most pencils have which leaves a beautiful natural finish (see swatch  and finish below).

I will definitely be buying this pencil again and i think this will be my new go to pencil, and for less than £6  i am a super happy girl with amazing eyebrows! POW! At least i think so anyway ;)

You can find this brow pencil here! and at Superdrug.  Let me know if you have tried this brand or any others you can recommend to me.

Thanks for reading.

Current Beauty Favourites

I have been away for a while...but all for a good reason! I got married!! On the 8th of September 2015 i married my soul mate and best friend in the whole world!  So the past year has been busy focusing on planning, table arrangements, cakes, flowers and everything else that comes along with what definitely was the best day of my life so far!

I am back with my current beauty faves at the minute.  I have been glued to all my favourite and some new blogs (including Hellooctober, icovetthee, Sazan) looking for new products to try and i wanted to see if anyone else is going mad for the same lipstick as me.

For the longest time i have been obsessed with lipstick queen, and today is no different, in any shade, but my mains are the silky reds that give your lips colour but keep them a little shiny at the same time...kind of like a lipstick lip gloss mix.

Makeup Forever HD: shade 120, Y245
Nars concealer: Vanilla
Nars Dual Blush: Frenzy
Hourglass: Dim light
Lipstickqueen: Sunny Rouge
Kiko Mascara: Black

Another gem is the Hourglass dim light, this miracle powder uses a special formula to blur out pores and wrinkles! it really does the trick!  I apply this to my under eyes and T zone are mainly, i also can use this to set my concealer if i am pushed for time on days where I am running out the door with one shoe one...(no really... this actually happened).

Makeup forever HD i think most people have tried, it is the perfect balance of shade and colour to match your skin tone and look amazing in photos! I also like to mix this with my double wear (just a tiny tiny bit) to cool down the pinky tones that i think is in all shades no matter if it is cool warm or neutral.

Nars...thats all i have to say.  Love it love it love it! the concealer lasts me for ever, the shade i use is vanilla to highlight at the same time.  My new favourite blush is the dual intensity in Frenzy, it has a peachy blush colour and a gold shimmer so you can glam up your cheeks!

Last on my list is a new discovery while on our honeymoon.  Verona... the beautiful little city opened my eyes to some new brands and Kiko is like Christmas and birthdays all at once!  The products are pretty damn awesome and super reasonable in price.  I picked up this Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara for just €7.95!!! It works wonders, i would say it has a similar brush to the Benefit they're real mascara and isn't far off the finish either.

What is your favourites at the minute?

Feels good to be back!
Thanks for reading :)

Once we receive the final edits of our wedding photos i will do a little post on our magical day... so look out for that!!

Max factor 3in1 foundation: Review

So it was quite a busy month for me in January, which is why i haven't been posting much...where does the time go?  Usually i am unwinding from the hustle and bustle of the festive season and am pretty much a bore...i haven't even done that much sale grabbing (yes... i am ashamed).  There has been so much on and so much still to come so I am looking forward to 2014!!

I am always jumping back and forth between foundations, i love Estee lauder but it is quite on the pricey side so il switch them up a bit to make my absolute favourite ones last that little bit longer.  Here is my view on the Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 foundation...

Beauty secrets: Clear up your skin with Vitiman d!

Tumblr

Hey lovelies! I wanted to share my story with you all and i hope i can help anyone who suffers from bad skin, because well...i feel your pain!

The beginning of a positive result...

So we all know that acne in any form but especially adult acne is a real pain in the ass and we try everything possible to clear it up, like changing your diet to remove diary products, changing our skin routine 20 million times, not touching our face etc etc.  I will tell you i am now an expert in acne...yip i have truly tried everything under the sun(which will be very important in this story) and for 2 years there were times my skin cleared up but it came back again and again.

It really got me down, i felt paranoid and depressed i didnt enjoy putting my makeup on anymore. I tried all the above thst i said and more. I finally went to the doctors, i didnt go at first because every blog or piece i read everyone says the docotrs give you something and it works for a while but again comes crawling back.. so they gave me benyzol cream to apply at night for 5 weeks and it did help even from the first use.  While i was at the docs i asked for a pollycystic ovaries test and a vitiman D deficiancy test as i had read about the fact that obviously hormones are a big cause but also i realised when i go away on holiday my skin clears up.

Lightbulb moment!

I started researching this and found only a few but similar problems people where having all saying the exact same thing as me. I came across a link that said "how i cleared up my skin in 2 months this really works".  It was a girl saying she ended up getting vitiman D supplements after trying everything else and within 2 months her skin was nearly back to normal.

I got my tests back from the doc a week later and i was boarder line vitamin d deficient so i went to holland and barratt and got some vitiman d supplements in 1000iu/25ug as i needed at least that as we can get up to 5000iu from only 15 minutes in the sun.  Plus i didnt want to high a dose as you can toxify yourself if you do too much so do be careful.

This along with using dead sea black mud mask soap and a muslin cloth was beginning to look like a good combination.

The result

I am so over the moon with how this small tiny pill has helped my skin after nothing working for me...afterall we dont get much sun on this rainy little island plus u work then u come home so its pale city all the way.
I still have some scarring which is gradually getting better plus i had to learn not to squeeze (sometimes it just helps with the soreness) as it leaves scars SO DONT PICK!

I am not an expert and what works for me may not work for some people but if you are at a loss then do give this a try and let me know how it works for you!  Are there any other tips that worked for you? let me know in the comments!

2013 favourites

So its a new year and time for some new posts! I wanted to do a 2013 Favourites, i decided to only choose a few products because i would be here all day if i kept going! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas too, i had a fab time over in England with my fiancés family! We ended up doing a lot of travelling about going to Liverpool and Nottingham visiting more family, it was fun! If you haven't seen my Travel style tag you can here and see what i packed!

So anyway, here are my favourites for last year, and ok most where actually Christmas presents (im sorry for cheating a little) but i actually they are my favourite things at the minute!

1. Rihanna Perfume- This was a gift and has vanilla in it so i was sold right away...it kind of smells like chanel so its like designer perfume only a lot cheaper!

2. Smashbox Halo long wear blush, In Bloom- This is a loose blusher and is a gorgeous colour for the cheeks, it has that perfect rosey glow and does last!

3. Smashbox photo finish Primer- this was recommended to me by a friend and i went in to try it i fell in love, it is like a gel but once you rub it in it is so silky smooth and keeps my makeup sitting perfect all day and smells good too, i would recommend this product if you are looking for a good primer!

4. Barry M Raspberry nail paint- I LOVE this colour! it is the ultimate red berry nail paint and with be nice any time of year but i loved it for winter...plus i got the last one Woohoo!

5. Becca shimmering skin perfector- I love contouring and highlighting i think it is as great trick and really enhances and hides your worst and best features, this highlighter is beautiful and just give the right amount of shimmer for under my makeup! i apply it to middle of my forehead and along my nose and under my eyes!

6. Max Factor 3 in 1 foundation- This is like a more on a budget version of Estee Lauder double wear foundation, it stays on pretty well i must say dahling...coz you can still be fancy you know!? I wear it to work so i dont go through my double wear as quick and the shades are nice aswell they don't have too much to choose from but i think you would easy find one to suit your skin!

7. Creamy coconut moisturiser M&S- I always use my tinted moisturiser but sometimes if i want to give it a break and rock the pale look and this smells good and feels good...just all of the above!

i wanted to add a few extras of what i love at the minute, i got these post cards for Christmas and they are all vintage and recent covers of Vogue! i was so pleased to be given these as a gift, i picked out my favourites and put them in a frame to hang on our living room wall.

I just through in the little handwarmer because, well its just cute!

Hope you enjoyed these favourites! tell me if you have tried any of these products in the comments!

Love you all!

New year new me

Pictures: Pinterest

2013 is officially over, i have to say i learned a lot in the last year.  I always make my resolution to be that of some inner serenity and try to be a better person to get to know myself more.  I don't know if a lot of you are like me but sometimes i don't feel like i really know who i am and i am constantly searching.  I think 2013 was the year for that...offcourse i am still discovering and learning new things every day we don't ever stop, but i feel that little bit more comfortable and confident with the person and woman i am.

I have made some amazing memory's!

Going to Amsterdam in March was one of the many places i want to see in this beautiful world! i enjoyed every minute of it and got to experience another culture and see some amazing places!
Seeing Beyoncé was just surreal i have always wanted to see her live and i finally did, she is my all time biggest inspiration as a woman and she makes some damn good music too!

I got to go on a few holidays last year which, i truly appreciate because well money is a luxury wouldnt you agree?... including 2 weeks in the sun in Olu Deniz (which hel0ed make me feel refeshed and like a new person) and going on many trips around our little island which is one of my favourite things.  Ireland is a stunning place with some beautiful people and is truly underestimated!

Giving it another go on my blog, it could come down to the fact that like i said i didnt know who i was or what i wanted to really talk about or share with who ever came across my blabbering ha! But its something i really enjoy doing and only if i had more time to give it my full attention i would be posting every day...but really blogging is an amazing thing and i want to thank everyone who takes the time to read and comment for all the love and support! It makes me smile when i read everyones lovely thoughts and so many compliments! so THANK YOU!

The first official blog post for Lipstick and Polkadots will be up tomorrow so stay tuned!

I hope you had a great new year and i look forward to reading all your comments and your blog posts for whats to come!

The perfect winter lipstick: Rimmel 107

I love Rimmel nail varnishes so I was over having a nosey the other week and I thought I’d try some of their lipsticks.  The Kate Moss ones caught my eye…because I thought the packaging looked pretty.

Hot chocolate and Polenta chips

So... i knew this weekend could have gone two ways...hauled up in the house with no money (or even petrol for that matter) to go anywhere or a trip to pizza express for a yummy dinner date.
