Perfect at home ombré with a twist!

Hi! How are you?  So for the past while I have been really wanting to do the whole dip dye thing...now I have tried it before with the at home loreal dip dye and it just didn't work.  Oh you would think after trying it the first time and my hair just going a horrible orange colour that I would never do it again...ah well I did.  I know I am weird...the bleach must have went to my head, and not in the way I wanted it too.

I have read on blogs about doing something like this yourself and I know that if you are naturally dark (like me) that it can obviously make your hair turn burnt orange.  That you should be patient use a toner and buy purple shampoo and all that there...but I am just not that patient, when I do my hair I want it to be perfect there and then don't you? So after dying my hair back to brown again I left it and vowed I am never going to attempt blonde in my hair again myself, il just save up and treat myself to a salon job.

Then I got to thinking...my hair extensions where dying on  me so I had to take a trip into town to treat myself to some new silky extensions...so I thought hold a minute why don't I try buying a set that has blonde and kind of make a dip dye effect without having to actually having to dye my hair,? Light bulb moment!!!!  I went for it, not knowing it would work and just picked a colour that had browns and blondes through it so it was subtle but still give me that lighter at the bottom look!

The result?? I am in love with my new hair!! And it was a lot cheaper than paying for a dye in the salon! I just wanted to share this as I know a lot of you reading this are in the exact same position, we all want to change it up a little and this I think is a perfect alternative! Here is a photo once I got them home and curled them so as the blend a little better, below are some pictures to show you the resullt!!

Comment below and let me know what you think of my new do! Have you ever tried the at home ombre? If you decide to try this quick fix let me know how it turns out!?

Makeup favs

I loooooove doing my makeup like most girls. I thought i would do a post about my favorite peices in my makeup bag!

I love Nars and so i have a lot of it in my bag. The blusher which is named Outlaw is perfect for any occasion!! My all time favorite red lipstick (every girl should have one red lippy in their makeup bag ) is Funky Ruby By Terry ..it brightens up any outfit! I use Nars sante fe foundation which is a medium shade and is perfect for my skin tone. It goes on with just the right amount of coverage. I like to keep my makeup as simple as possible day to day. Natural is always best!

Lastly i want to mention the mossiac bronze by Laura Mercier. I use this for my highligther, cheeks and to give a slight bronze on those dull areas. Its perfect!

Hope you liked this post :) x

1930s style bangs!

I have been fighting with myself for a we while now about whether to cut my bangs again because i love how they can frame your face if done right, even though after a while i will probably wish i hadn't. I took to the shears and just went for it!! Its so easy to cut your bangs yourself without having to pay £5 or more every few weeks.

I wont do a whole tutorial on how to because there are loads of great videos and step by steps out there, just search on google!!

This time for me was different though i didn't want the usual blunt straight fringe i wanted them purposely so i could curl them!! yep, curly bangs are the cutest thing i have seen and i love all things vintage and the 1930's-40s styles for women where to die for and so classy!!

I actually got the idea and what pushed me to get the chop was watching The Mummy yesterday! Rachel Weisz's hair is so beautiful in the movie and i fell in love with her curly bangs!!

The Outcome!!

Just get small curling tongs thin enough to give a nice bouncy ringlet in your hair.

Curl your whole head, then just brush out the curls with a flat brush preferably one that has both bristles and plastic spokes i always use a grooming brush you can find these in Boots!

I just took my fringe in 6 or more different sections so that the curl would be bouncier and sit better rather than one huge curl!

I'm so pleased with how it looks! If you want to try something a little different and are tired of the normal boring old bangs give it a go! :)
